Hi, I'm Jim Simmerer and I'm a LICENSED CLINICAL SOCIAL WORKER and THERAPIST, in the State of ILLINOIS. In therapy, my style is to act as a GUIDE, not as an EXPERT, because I know that YOU are the expert on YOU! I believe that it is disrespectful, and even unprofessional when others, (including THERAPISTS), try to tell CLIENTS what THEY THINK YOU should do and how YOU should THINK and FEEL about things. This is especially true, I believe, if they don't even really know you. My goal is to NEVER do this to YOU! I will always strive to give you the right to be yourself and to make your own choices, when YOU are ready!
